This was Rachael's 2nd trip ice skating. We went to a local rink since a day of rain has washed most of the ice and snow away. We were able to try out the skate guard that is used to teach kids. She seemed to like it and was able to get around with a little help from Daddy.

Isabel asked to go ice skating this season and we have a snow park in town w/ warming house. I wish I could find these wide dual strap on skates that we had when we were little.
Although, I may have to take her some indoor place that rents skates since it doesn't make sense to buy a pair at this age.
they do still sell the double bladed skates (sherpers has them here). but you are right, paying for them does not make sense. go try it out at a rink and if she loves it then buy them. but if isabel is anything like rachael she wont skate for long. an hour or two at most.
